Representing Juveniles Facing Criminal Charges

In juvenile matters, while I work closely with parents, I represent the minor child and must ultimately do what is in the child's best interests. I have seen situations where a minor had juvenile delinquency issues, but was also a Child In Need of Assistance (CINA). In all situations, I focus on the needs of the minor.

I have extensive experience working with children who have been charged with criminal acts, some as young as 10 years old. I know from experience that most minors don't understand the criminal justice system, how it can affect their lives and the impact of a juvenile conviction. I speak to them on their own level, taking the time to break down the law into language they can understand.

Juveniles Charged as Adults

If the nature of the crime has led your child to be charged as an adult, I will fight to get the case moved back to the juvenile court system, where the court records are sealed. The juvenile court system also provides better opportunities for rehabilitation, providing services that help minors change behavior patterns before they become adults.
